Grokvar produces content focused on the Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer: The Old World, Kill Team, Necromunda, and BattleTech tabletop wargaming hobbies, including all the books, animations, video games, and other content related to those universes.

I first played BattleTech 2nd Edition in the late 1980s, then picked up Warhammer Fantasy (4th Edition) in the early 1990s. After dropping out of both hobbies for several decades, I returned to both hobbies in the Fall of 2022, focusing mainly on Warhammer 40,000. Adeptus Mechanicus is currently my faction of choice, but I've grown fond of (and have started collecting) Leagues of Votann and Orks as well.

I'm also contemplating a Space Marine army down the road, and I'm leaning towards either Space Wolves or White Scars, but considering other options as well. If you have strong opinions here, I'd love to hear them!

The Origin of Grokvar

I went through a corporate layoff in the middle of 2023, so I decided—with the help of my youngest son—to launch a tabletop and video gaming website and YouTube channel called Grokvar. After our first two videos on YouTube (an unboxing video and review of Space Marine: The Board Game) generated thousands of page views, we decided to create more content.
